Are businesses still using toll-free numbers?

As more and more businesses move away from traditional telephone systems, the question arises: are businesses still using toll-free numbers?

The answer, in short, is yes. While the use of toll-free numbers has declined in recent years, they are still a staple for many businesses – especially those that rely on customer service.

Toll-free numbers offer a number of advantages, including the ability to track calls and route them to the appropriate department or agents. They also provide a professional appearance and can give customers a sense of security. We like to say that toll-free numbers are “America’s Area Code” in that it gives a feeling that a company has a nationwide footprint and isn’t a small, regional business.

That said, there are also some drawbacks to using toll-free numbers. They can be expensive to maintain, and customers may be hesitant to call a number that they know will incur charges.

Ultimately, whether or not to use a toll-free number is a decision that each business must make based on their specific needs and goals. There are pros and cons to consider, but toll-free numbers can still be a valuable asset for many businesses.
